They discuss similarities and differences in a European context and reflect on social, societal and political developments against the background of heilpedagogic perspectives. The discussion focuses on the following questions, among others:

  • What are the current challenges with regard to the goal of an inclusive community on a European level?
  • What steps have already been taken towards an inclusive community? What are the similarities and differences between the various countries?
  • What are the current perspectives in European politics regarding social policy, in particular for people with disabilities and for children, adolescents and families in disadvantaged situations?
  • How does social and specific participation policy cooperation work at European level?
  • Which actors at European or EU level are relevant with regard to heilpedagogic issues (participation, education in difficult circumstances, etc.)?
  • In various European countries, extreme right-wing parties have become increasingly popular in recent years and some have been elected to government. Will the cooperation for an inclusive community change as a result?
